Steam Cleaning Doff, Thermatech, Torik

Here at Ultrablast UK Ltd all our staff are stonehealth trained and listed as DOFF and TORC approved contractors. Hot (150°C) steam cleaning. Other branded machines we use are Thermatech and Torik.

The DOFF (steam Cleaning) cleans stonework and masonry using high temperature steam. When the temperature in the system is high, the pressure on the surface being cleaned is very gentle and the volume of water is low. The surface is therefore not saturated and will be dry within minutes.

DOFF approved contractors, for removal of coatings from brick and stone without causing damage to the surface, using steam only ideal for delicate surfaces and listing buildings. Environmentally friendly.

How does it work?

The DOFF, Thermatech, and Torik cleaning system is a gentle, environmentally friendly method designed for the cleaning and conservation of delicate stone surfaces and listed buildings. This steam-based system utilizes high-temperature water vapor to remove contaminants without causing damage to sensitive materials.

Operating Principle:

  • The system delivers steam at temperatures up to 150°C at the nozzle, allowing effective removal of dirt, biological growth, and surface-applied coatings such as paint.
  • The operator can adjust both temperature and pressure, tailoring the cleaning intensity to the type and sensitivity of the surface being treated.
  • Cleaning is achieved without the use of chemical biocides, reducing environmental impact and eliminating the risk of chemical damage to the substrate.
  • The process is suitable for sensitive and historic surfaces, ensuring that the integrity of the stone or masonry is preserved.

What can DOFF, Thermatech, Torik be used for?

It is very effective at removing thermoplastic paint and coating (acrylic and oil based), masonry paints, adhesives, latex, bitumen, certain types of graffiti, bird or vermin fouling, algae, moss, fungi, lichen, mould and other biological matter.

Also wax coatings, bitumen, oil, fat & grease soiling, dirt & grime, chewing gum, organic contamination stains from lipstick & mascara, some anti graffiti coatings & bird gels (mostly flexible matter) from floors, walls, machinery, appliances, and most surfaces - brick, stone, concrete, tiles, terracotta, wood, stucco and render.
